Wi-Fi for two remote healthcare clinics in the Himalayas

Testing Big Box in Soru

Organisation: PHASE Nepal

Location: Himalayas, Nepal

Status: testing

Sector: Healthcare

In the remote Himalayas, healthcare charity PHASE Nepal is providing healthcare support to thousands of people through small, remote clinics that are inaccessible by paved road and often hours from better resourced hospitals. Operated by staff who are trained to the equivalent of nurse-level, many of PHASE Nepal’s clinics have no or little network coverage, making communications between clinics, the head office, and external medical expertise difficult.

In 2021, Jangala sent two Big Boxes to PHASE Nepal for them to test across their range of healthcare clinics, which focus on maternal and child health.

Once the tests are complete, these Big Boxes will be stationed at two remote clinics, where Wi-Fi will make all the difference to their operations.

Quality internet will enhance our communication which will increase efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness of our support to the community people. They will get a better service from PHASE Nepal.
