Big Box with No Nation Truck

Organisation: No Nation Truck

Location: France

Status: live

Sector: Refugee support

Deployed: June 2022

No Nation Truck is a small collective of 10 people who support asylum seekers journeying across Europe’s borders. They operate a 7.5 tonne truck which can cook food for up to 150 people, offers charging points and drinking water, and delivers first aid (through one on-site doctor and paramedic). They also help people document and publish accounts of police and border violence.

Since May 2022, No Nation Truck has been operating in the Valley of Oulx and Claviere at 1900m supporting people transiting from Italy to France. Each day, around 60-90 people access the Truck’s support in terms of charging their phones, getting medical treatment and cooking together.

Armed with a Big Box since June 2022, No Nation Truck are now providing Wi-Fi alongside these services so these asylum seekers can access information, news, legal advice and support, as well as to speak to family and friends and access entertainment.
