Big Box has deployed to Türkiye to help emergency disaster relief efforts. Two boxes have been sent out with search and rescue volunteers Abbas and Simon from Serve On, a UK based charity. Serve On’s International Response Team (IRT) comprises a highly trained team of experts available 24 hours a day to save lives by responding to disasters, anywhere in the world.

The Wi-Fi boxes, funded by Virgin Media O2, are able to connect up to 850 people simultaneously. Their first use has been at the United Nations Reception/ Departure Centre where incoming teams, arriving to help with the crisis, are using it to connect to free Wi-Fi.

Abbas, Serve On search and rescue volunteer, says “they are adding value already” and other rescue workers are asking for them.
